Greektown is a staple of downtown Detroit. Offering restaurants, shops, bars, and a phenomenal pastry shop, Astoria! Greektown is definitely improving thanks to the newly built Greektown Casino and Hotel. It’s a great destination for a night out of dinner and drinks or spend the night at the new hotel and try your luck at the casino. Greektown is also convenient to the People Mover (above ground train), so you can park and get around easily without navigating the city streets and struggle with parking.
One of my favorite Greek restaurants in Greektown is Pegasus, which offers a large menu, charming atmosphere, and too many desserts to choose from!
I enjoy grabbing lunch in Greektown, then taking the people mover to the Renaissance Center (GM headquarters) where you can browse shops, catch a movie, ride the glass elevator, relax at Starbuck’s, checkout GM’s new cars displayed in their showroom, or access the Riverwalk and take in great views of Windsor.
