St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Monastery – Bakery / Gift Shop – Goldendale, Washington
Date: 10/10/2009 10:48:59 PM Category: Washington

I noticed the St. Johns Greek Orthodox Monastery as I drove by thanks to the Greek Pastries sign (I’d never pass that up).  St. Johns is a working monastery that you can tour; they also offer a wonderful shop that sells fresh baked goods, pastries, and other products made from scratch by the sisters.  You can also find natural soaps and lotions, honey and homemade jams, prayer related items, books, CD’s, religious icons, and more.

Please note that if you wish to tour the monastery, men need to be in long sleeves and pants, and women in long sleeves, long skirts and head coverings.  They will provide visitors with appropriate attire if you do not meet their guidelines.

Located at: 5 Timmer Lane Goldendale, Washington  98620

They say looks can be deceiving and you certainly cannot judge this restaurant by its exterior, but I promise you will have a memorable meal!

The Delilah I am referring to is the one we all know from the radio. Delilah’s Cozy Kitchen is hers and located near where she calls home in Port Orchard, Washington.

Sequim, pronounced “skwim” is charming and reminded me of a west coast Boca Raton, but a much friendlier version.
