Hood River, Oregon

Hood River, Oregon is more of a gateway to the areas activities than a destination in itself.  However, it is a quaint little town and a cute place to stay overnight if you're in the area.  It is in close proximity to several state parks and Indian Creek Golf Course.  Also, it is definitely worth mentioning the Best Western in Hood River which lies at the feet of the Hood River Bridge which connects it to White Salmon, Washington.  Our room was literally the size of my condominium, but with a much better view.  Clean, pleasant, reasonable rates, pool and hot tub, riverside patio, decent breakfast, hot cider, cocoa and coffee by the fire… so either I’m too easy to please or this place was awesome (my husband would go with the latter).  Point being, I recommend it highly if you’re staying in the area.

The Columbia River Gorge region boasts a beautiful collection of waterfalls; however, Multnomah Falls is by far my favorite and worth the short climb toward the top or at least to the viewing bridge.
