Where the Columbia River meets the Pacific… Astoria, Oregon.  The town of Astoria for me personally, felt like a step back in time.  The small shops and businesses that have managed to survive in today’s world offer a nostalgic way to spend a few hours.  Pack a sweater, and plan to spend at least an hour by the docks to enjoy the sea lions (the many, many sea lions).  If you’re like me… as in not use to sea lions 5 feet away, you will definitely get a kick out of this.  This was the best viewing of sea lions I’ve encountered too.

They say looks can be deceiving and you certainly cannot judge this restaurant by its exterior, but I promise you will have a memorable meal!

The Delilah I am referring to is the one we all know from the radio. Delilah’s Cozy Kitchen is hers and located near where she calls home in Port Orchard, Washington.

St. Johns is a working monastery that you can tour; they also offer a wonderful shop that sells fresh baked goods, pastries, and other products made from scratch by the sisters.

Sequim, pronounced “skwim” is charming and reminded me of a west coast Boca Raton, but a much friendlier version.
