Sequim, Washington

Sequim, pronounced “skwim” is charming and reminded me of a west coast Boca Raton, but a much friendlier version.  Many seniors have retired here and find happiness in continuing their craft or art that can be bought at the Sequim Open Aire Market.  The town is a good area to stay overnight if you are visiting the area and Olympic National Park.  The downtown area has shops, restaurants, and of course a Tully’s.  If you looking for a bite to eat, the Sunshine Café is a wonderful little spot.  The Huevos Rancheros is a little nontraditional, but superb and my husband had biscuits and gravy he mumbles about in his sleep (no, I can’t make out what he says in his sleep, but he LOVED them, honest).  Not to mention, this family run café actually closes down so the staff can vacation, how considerate is that!

The Delilah I am referring to is the one we all know from the radio. Delilah’s Cozy Kitchen is hers and located near where she calls home in Port Orchard, Washington.

St. Johns is a working monastery that you can tour; they also offer a wonderful shop that sells fresh baked goods, pastries, and other products made from scratch by the sisters.
