Mayan Ruins of San Gervasio, Cozumel, Mexico

Only 11 miles from San Miguel on the island of Cozumel is the ruins of San Gervasio devoted to the Mayan goddess Ixchel.  Although these are less impressive than other Mayan ruins like Chichen Itza or Tulum, they are still uncovering temples and ruins at this archeological site and you’ll find them full of rich and interesting history. 

Note: You will want the obvious sunscreen, but bug spray is also a good idea as the surroundings are basically jungle.
