Montego Bay, Jamaica

There is a place where everything is “Irie”; where life itself is reason to smile.  Welcome to Jamaica! The beauty of Jamaica is a culmination of its vibrant happy people, the awe in its surroundings, and its fascinating past.  This traveler’s paradise offers pristine Caribbean water laced with first-rate coral reefs and sugary sand beaches amid a backdrop of the lush Blue Mountains.

I selected to go the all-inclusive route at a beach front resort in Montego Bay.  Montego Bay is also home to the famous Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, water slide and all; and the Jamaica Bobsled Bar in honor of the famous Jamaican Bobsled team.

Whether you’re an adventurer or looking for relaxation, or some of both, it’s all here.  From dolphin encounters, white water rafting, diving, horseback riding, sports fishing, the list goes on and on.  Of all the Caribbean islands and tropical destinations I’ve called upon, Jamaica has a vibe and flavor unlike any other and is an amazing destination.

The Great House of Rose Hall, Montego Bay, Jamaica

Jamaica’s popular Rose Hall Great House is a museum now, but was previously the home of the “White Witch” Annie Palmer who is said to still haunt the home today.  It didn’t help Annie Palmer’s reputation that she was skilled in the practice of voodoo and as legend has it, Annie was the cause of death for several of her husband’s.   I found this a fun and interesting place to visit and the eerie sense of mystery definitely adds to visit.

Dunns River Falls, Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Dunns River Falls are the famous cascading waterfalls that rise 600ft from the Caribbean Sea.  Guides take groups on the climb, hand in hand, up over the slippery rocks (water shoes are a must) into relaxing pools that act as natural Jacuzzis.  If you are in Jamaica, Dunns River Falls are a must!
